In 1997, the School of Architecture at Texas A&M University created the Outstanding Alumni Award to spotlight the extraordinary achievements of our former students. Recipients of this award have garnished outstanding accomplishments, leadership and good works in their professional lives. Fewer than 1% of former students are selected for the Outstanding Alumni Award, cementing it as the highest honor the college bestows on alumni.
Anat Geva (Class of 1995) received an Texas A&M University School of Architecture Outstanding Alumni Award for 2020, which was awarded this past spring (due to a 2-year Covid delay). To see Anat Geva's bio and read about all of the outstanding alumni click here.
In addition, Dr. Geva opened the 12th Symposium of the Form on Architecture, Culture and Spirituality (ACS), held at Fallingwater in June, 2022, with a keynote presentation entitled, "What we can learn from Frank Lloyd Wright's Sacred Architecture".
The Architecture, Culture, and Spirituality Forum (ACSF) is the only organization of its type dedicated to addressing the spiritual dimensions of the built environment. We believe that the design and experience of the built environment can assist the spiritual development of humanity in service of addressing the world’s most pressing issues. ACSF scholarly activities focus on the capacity of the built environment to bridge cultural and religious differences, raise human consciousness, access lost knowledge, educate people, address environmental and cultural sustainability, advance social justice, and improve health and well-being. Since its founding in 2007, ACSF has hosted scholarly conferences and symposia, provided on-line resources for leading edge scholarship, and produced and disseminated peer-reviewed publications in its subject areas.
ACSF is a multidisciplinary, multi-faith, and international community of scholars, educators, and practitioners. Our global membership represents over fifty countries and includes design professionals, scholars, researchers, and educators from a wide range of faith traditions, and disciplines including architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and planning, interior architecture and design, the visual and performing arts, comparative religion, environmental psychology, phenomenology, sacred space, social work, anthropology, philosophy, sustainability, religious studies, historical and cultural preservation, theology, neuroscience, and more.

Dr. Anat Geva initially joined SAH in 1996. She served as a session chair at the 2016 Annual Conference, as a speaker at the 2017 Annual Conference, and on the SAH Board 2016-2019. She was on the H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship Committee in 2017.
