Howard University Architecture and Landscape Tour

Washington, DC , United States

Professor of Architecture and Interim Department Chairperson Bradford C. Grant will lead us through the Howard University campus, highlighting its diverse array of historic architecture—from the Colonial Revival buildings facing its main Yard, designated a National Historic Landmark district—to its collection of Mid-Century Modern buildings that highlight Howard’s long-standing commitment to architectural education and practice. The tour will feature modern buildings designed by African American architects including Hilyard Robinson and Paul R. Williams and explore the role of the modern movement in the campus’ development.

This event is free but advance registration is required, and attendance is capped at 30 people. Members of SAH Latrobe and Docomomo DC chapters are encouraged to bring up to two guests. To register, please complete the form below. SAH Latrobe will email location and other meeting information to registrants on the week of the event.
