Adaptive Reuse: Design Transformations for Community Healthcare
The Epidemic Urbanism Initiative (EUI) is pleased to announce a forthcoming design competition, “Adaptive Reuse: Design Transformations for Community Healthcare.” Proposals are invited in two categories: Community Health Center, and Emergency Treatment Center. Submissions are due May 30, 2023. We hope you will share this call with interested students, faculty, and colleagues.
The goal of this design competition is to provide a setting for collaboration between students, teachers, designers, thinkers, architects, artists, and healthcare practitioners to create and discuss conceptual design ideas based on adaptive reuse that promote architecture for equitable, healthy communities.
Each design category will be reviewed by jurors who are working as faculty and professionals from various countries and disciplines. Shortlisted projects will be announced on August 1, 2023 and will be discussed by the jury and guest commentators in final online review meetings for each topic. The First Prize teams in each category will receive $2000.
Please see our website for more details on the call, including due dates and submission criteria.
Thank you for helping us foster a dynamic conversation about the role of the built environment through this design competition.
Best wishes,
