AHA Online Roundtable: "Don’t Say Gay, Stop WOKE, Banned Books, and Anti-Trans Laws: Teaching through the Backlash"

How are historians responding to new laws that roll back decades of curricula and censor LGBTQ and racial content in the US and around the world? Join us at this roundtable, where Jeremy Young (PEN America), Anita Kurimay (Bryn Mawr Coll.), Wesley Phelps (Univ. of North Texas) and moderator Claire Potter (New School) will discuss these challenges and what those who are still free to teach and speak can do to support colleagues who are grappling with these new laws.

When: Monday, February 6, 2 p.m. EST

Where: AHA Online

This event is free to attend and open to all. Registration is required.
