Chicago Tribune Tower – Chicago's Crown Jewel
On Thursday, February 23 at 7 pm Steven Hubbard, Associate Principal, Solomon Cordwell Buenz, and Senior Designer on the Tribune Tower Residences presents “Chicago Tribune Tower - Chicago’s Crown Jewel” in Unity Temple Restoration Foundation’s Break::the::Box Lecture Series at Unity Temple. This program will include time for audience Q & A.
When the Chicago Tribune newspaper vacated its headquarters on Michigan Avenue, a massive conversion of the site by Solomon Cordwell Buenz architects began. From the renowned Hall of Inscriptions to walls filled with historic relics of worldwide significance, Tribune Tower’s original design elements have been carefully and respectfully restored to preserve its dramatic impact. In its rebirth as Tribune Tower Residences, the building’s rich architectural details are reflected in masterfully articulated new expressions – creating a seamless connection between yesterday and today.
The Tribune Tower features residences in 1-4 bedrooms, with 56 floor plans. There is 55,000 sq. ft. of amenity space on four different levels, including fitness and gathering spaces, private park and pool, and the 25th floor Crown Lounge and Terrace with indoor and outdoor kitchens, fresh herb garden and firepits. Turning the building into luxury residences with 56 unique floor plans, while retaining the signature gothic architectural elements and Tribune signage. This is a FREE program.
