Neorealist Architecture @ Casa Italiana Zerilli - Marimò (NYU)

New York , United States
22 W 12th St

After World War II, there was a wave of Italian films that came to be labelled 'neorealism' and are now regarded as pivotal to world film history. But was neorealism limited to cinema, or did it spread to other spheres of the arts? If so, was there a 'neorealist architecture'?

On March 23rd, Joan Ockman (Yale University) and Alfo G. Aguado (NYU) will join David Escudero (ETSAM-UPM) to discuss his book Neorealist Architecture: Aesthetics of Dwelling in Postwar Italy (Routledge, 2022).

The event will also be broadcast live on YouTube, Facebook, and website via Casa Italiana.

Event co-sponsored by the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in Fine Arts, grants for individuals programme.
