Seattle/Boston/Houston

Announcing dates for 2023 Maintenance Culture events in Seattle, Baltimore, and Houston!

Learn, build skills, and share knowledge about digital preservation for creative works like digital design, time-based media art, and net art. Visit your local Maintenance Culture community site for more:

Seattle April 12 - 13

Baltimore May 23 - 25

Houston June 20 – 22

All events are free to attend.

The Skillshare is a fun event for artists, creators, archivists, museum professionals, memory workers, and anyone else interested in creating or preserving digital art. Participants are invited to share a skill, learn a skill, and build a community of practice together. This is for you if you’re excited about making, collecting, maintaining, or preserving digital art, augmented reality works, net art, or any other creative, digital work.

The Workshop is for workers at museums, libraries, archives, historical societies, and other memory institutions. The workshop focuses on building digital preservation skills to preserve complex, born-digital, creative works, like digital design, augmented reality, software and net art, and time-based media art. Participants invited to learn, connect, and grow their institutional capacity for sustaining access to digital creative works.

We’ll announce dates for Detroit, New Orleans, and Los Angeles in 2023. Sign up for email updates on the Maintenance Culture main page.
