Upcoming Events for 2012
This year, SAH will celebrate the 120th anniversary of Charnley-Persky House, the Society’s headquarters. We invite you to celebrate the multifaceted history of this modern masterpiece by attending this year’s series of lectures and events.

Lecture:
Archaeology at the Charnley-Persky House
Join us on Thursday, February 23 at 6:00 p.m. for a presentation on the urban archeological dig that took place during Summer 2010 on the Charnley-Persky House property. Led by Rebecca Graff, the dig was a five-week class for anthropology students at DePaul University. Learn about Chicago history and view artifacts such as bottles, fragments of china, and cookware.  

Study Tours:
3 Capitals Tour Report

The title of the tour, 'Three Capitals: Dhaka, New Delhi, and Chandigarh,' hardly captures the intensity and depth of the eleven-day journey across South Asia. The tour centered on the heroic and monumental plans of these twentieth-century capitals.

Call For Tour Leaders
Architectural Historians, Graduate Students, Architects, Preservation Officers, Landscape Historians and Landscape Architects are invited to submit proposals for SAH study tours and study days to be presented in 2013 and 2014. Proposals of all types are welcome. The proposals will be reviewed and selected by the SAH Study Tour Advisory Committee and Officers of SAH with an eye toward creating a tour schedule that is both balanced and diverse in subject, time periods, and geographic coverage.

SAHARA:
New SAHARA Collections
SAH would like to acknowledge and thank recent SAHARA image contributors. Last month Heidi Eyestone and her staff at Carleton College completed the contribution of approximately 4,400 images by Lauren Soth. Dell Upton has also contributed hundreds of his own images. Pat Cannon has been another busy contributor as well, uploading photos by professional architecture photographer James Caulfield. Thank you to all SAHARA users and keep up the great work!

Chapters:
Southeast Chapter SESAH will hold its 30th Annual Meeting in Athens, Georgia, from October 17-20, 2012. The SESAH Host Committee invites abstracts for individual papers or proposals for session panels, consisting of three to four papers and a chair.

Thomas Jefferson Chapter at UVA TJ SAH invites you to an informal disccusion with prof. Richard Guy Wilson, U.Va Commonwealth Professor of Architectural History. Prof Wilson is an award-winning architectural historian who specialized in 18th-20th century American architecture. 6 May @ 4pm

Southeast Chapter Deadline extended for submission to ARRIS, the Journal of the Southeast Chapter of SAH. New deadline for papers: February 15th, 2012.

Marion Dean Ross / Pacific Northwest Chapter The annual conference of the Marion Dean Ross / Pacific Northwest Chapter will be held in historic Spokane, Washington in 2012.

Southern California Chapter Join the SAH/SCC for a special behind the scenes tour of the exhibit, "Carefree Living: Cliff May and the Romance of the Ranch" at the University Art Museum, University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).
