SAH has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts to support development of SAH Archipedia, a robust online library of building histories that SAH will launched in April 2012.
The
Graham Foundation awarded more than $560,000 to 47 institutions whose work engages a wide range of issues in architecture and related spatial practices.
The Graham Foundation grant for SAH Archipedia will match a $460,000 grant from NEH to create an online library containing all the building entries, photographs, essays, sidebars and other content from the Society's award winning Buildings of the United States publications. At its launch in April 2012, SAH Archipedia will be released in two online editions:
SAH Archipedia, a large-scale, multi-media, web-based subscription resource for architects, historic preservationists, and a wide variety of researchers in the humanities; and
SAH Archipedia: Classic Buildings, a smaller, web-based, open-access resource for the general public.
