	Event Details - Finding Wright On Saturday evening, April 13th, Columbia University's Temple Hoyne Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture is excited to co-sponsor an event with the SAH at the Darwin Martin House's Greatbatch Pavilion in recognition of the recent joint acquisition of the Frank Lloyd Wright archives by the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library and the Museum of Modern Art. In addition to featuring a discussion of the acquisition by Carole Ann Fabian, Director of Avery Library, and Barry Bergdoll, the Philip Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the evening will include Reinhold Martin, Director of the Buell Center, with a preview of its related and ongoing research on Wright, his work, and their place in American architectural history. 	PechaKucha Buffalo - Call for Speakers SAH will host its second PechaKucha on Friday, April 12 at the 66th Annual Conference, in collaboration with PechaKucha Buffalo. PechaKucha is a fast-paced presentation style, where presenters discuss 20 slides for 20 seconds each. The talks range from reflections on current discourse in architecture and design to personal experiences - anything that inspires or speaks to your creativity. Read more.

New Grant for 2013: SAH-Mellon Author Awards We are pleased to announce SAH has been awarded a one-year grant of $51,330 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to fund subventions to emerging authors who are publishing monographs on the history of the built environment. These subventions, which will be awarded in 2013, are intended to help mitigate the high cost of image acquisition, licensing and reproduction fees for print, electronic and online publications about the history of architecture, landscapes, urbanism, preservation and related fields. Although applications will be jointly submitted by publishers and authors, grants will be given directly to emerging authors (those within six years of completion of a PhD). Author applicants must be current members of SAH. A similar subvention program for emerging authors working on the history of the visual arts has been funded by the Mellon Foundation and will be offered through the College Art Association in 2013. Gwendolyn Wright Lecture Now Online For its inaugural partnership with Chicago Humanities Festival, SAH presented a lecture by Gwendolyn Wright, professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and the author or editor of six books, including the recent USA: Modern Architectures in History. Since 2003 she has co-hosted the PBS television series, History Detectives, which explains the dynamic processes of historical investigation.
