Save the Date for SAH in Paris: A Fundraiser at the Elusive Maison de Verre, July 11-12

Feb 13, 2014 by User Not Found

Mark your calendars now to join the Society of Architectural Historians on July 11–12 for an unforgettable experience at the Maison de Verre in Paris.

Maison de Verre

Twenty-five people will have the pleasure of enjoying a light supper in the house of glass, lunch in its garden, good French wine, and conversation with fellow friends of architecture, while beholding the magnificent light that filters through the iconic glass-brick walls. Generously hosted by owner and former SAH board member Robert Rubin and curator Mary Vaughan Johnson, this two-day event promises to be a uniquely social and experiential gathering at the architectural wonder that is the Maison de Verre. In addition, guests will also visit two other modernist masterpieces: Alvar Aalto's Maison Louis Carré in Bazoches-sur-Guyonne and Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye in Poissy.

This event is being held to help raise the $150,000 needed to secure the entire $450,000 the National Endowment for the Humanities granted for the development of SAH Archipedia and SAH Archipedia Classic Buildings, the Society’s free, online encyclopedia of American architecture and landscapes.

Save the date for this experience of a lifetime. An invitation will be sent by email, so be sure to watch for it in March along with details to be included on the SAH website. Invite your friends, family and colleagues to take part in this special program, and share this news with those who have a passion for modern architecture.

We look forward to having you join us in Paris.
