SAH has been a leading organization in promoting the history of the built environment for more than 75 years, and it is the intellectual home for architectural and art historians, architects, design professionals and those who simply love the history of architecture.
We hope you will help SAH continue this path by making a contribution to the Annual Fund today. SAH generates revenues in multiple ways, including individual membership dues, institutional subscriptions, conference registration fees, federal and foundation grants, sponsorships, and special events, particularly our annual Awards Gala every November.
However, these varied income streams alone do not fully fund our work, and we depend upon individual gifts to help support the programming and publications that are at the core of SAH.
Your contribution to the Annual Fund will help support SAH programs and activities such as:
- SAH Annual International Conference: In April, nearly 750 individuals from 30 countries participated in this year’s conference in Pasadena/Los Angeles, which provided 142 members the opportunity to share their research to an audience of peers. Our 70th annual conference will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, strengthening our international presence and providing networking opportunities for our members.
- Study Programs: SAH Field Seminars and Study Days deliver architecturally rich, in-depth experiences exploring iconic structures and landscapes and hidden gems. SAH tours offer participants unique behind-the-scenes opportunities to visit once-in-a-lifetime sites and locations, such as our upcoming field seminars to Vietnam and Cambodia, and Hawaii.
- Digital Resources: SAH has just received a third prestigious NEH grant to expand and update SAH Archipedia, our online encyclopedia of American architecture and landscapes. While the grant provides significant resources for the project, it does not fully cover the operational expenses to manage such a leading edge endeavor.
We truly appreciate your past contributions to SAH. Your gift today—large or small—will help SAH continue to fulfill its mission.
Thank you and with all best wishes,
Ken Tadashi Oshima, SAH President
Pauline Saliga, SAH Executive Director
