| | SAH Partners with GAHTC to Offer Grants SAH is partnering with the Global Architectural History Teaching Collaborative to offer Research-to-Teaching Grants and Field Seminar Travel Grants. These new grants are part of the GAHTC's nearly $500,000 in funding to build new content for its free, digital platform of teaching materials. |

| | Call for Partnerships: SAH American Architecture & Landscape Field Trip Program SAH seeks partners to organize tours of the built environment for our youth-oriented American Architecture and Landscape Field Trip program. Created to provide opportunities for underserved students from the third grade through high school, SAH offers grants to not-for-profits to organize tours for young people on the history of architecture, parks, gardens, and town/city planning.

| | SAHARA Highlights: Syria It seems appropriate to acknowledge the tragic damage and destruction caused by the civil war to so many of Syria’s significant buildings, including all six of its UNESCO heritage sites. Thanks to the research, travel, and photography of our members and their contributions, there are valuable images in SAHARA of these monuments taken before these assaults. |

Spring is beginning to make an appearance in Japan. Although the evenings are still cool in central Honshu, the days are getting warmer and some of the sakura [cherry blossoms] are blooming, complementing the deep purple flowers of the plum trees that signify the end of winter. |

SAH/Mellon Author Awards: These awards provide financial relief to scholars who are publishing their first monograph on the history of the built environment and who are responsible for paying for image rights and permissions. Deadline June 1. SAH Study Program Fellowship for China Field Seminar: Open to current full-time graduate students and emerging professionals to participate in the SAH Field Seminar to China, December 26-January 7. This lecture is part of the SAH St. Louis Chapter and the Steedman Architectural Library presentation of the SAH 2017 Lecture Series. Docomomo US welcomes guests to join them for their second travel tour series, Modern Mexico City, October 14-22, 2017.
