JSAH in the Classroom

As the academic year kicks off, we ask those of you who teach to consider including JSAH articles in your course syllabi. Widely recognized as the leading English-language journal on history of the built environment, each issue of JSAH offers four to five scholarly articles on a range of topics and time periods, book reviews, reviews of exhibitions and multimedia, as well as editorials designed to place the discipline of architectural history within a larger intellectual context.

Including JSAH articles in your curriculum will help to increase the use of the journal at your library, which will encourage your institution to continue to subscribe. It’s important that your library subscribes to JSAH so students have access to the latest articles since recent issues of JSAH are not available on JSTOR.

If you wish to download and distribute JSAH articles for teaching, you should request permission from the journal's publisher, University of California Press.

Individual SAH members always have access to JSAH Online and the JSAH Archive (1941–present). Students can join SAH at a discounted rate. Join SAH at sah.org/membership or contact Membership Director Anne Bird at membership@sah.org.
