Marion Dean Ross Chapter
Registration is open for the June 21-23, 2019 annual meeting of the Marion Dean Ross (PNW) Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians. The conference will be held in Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint and Wallace, Idaho, and will feature renowned Seattle-area architect Gordon Walker as the keynote speaker. Two research scholarships and four student travel scholarships will be awarded in conjunction with the conference, and a new endowment for our young professionals award will be announced.
St. Louis and Missouri Valley Chapter
The Shanley Building (1935) in Clayton, Missouri, the first International Style building in St. Louis and the central Midwest, designed by Harris Armstrong, FAIA (1899-1973), is under threat of demolition by a proposed development for a 21-story condominium tower. Society of Historians of Eastern European, Eurasian, and Russian Art and Architecture
Society of Historians of Eastern European, Eurasian, and Russian Art and Architecture (SHERA) will sponsor the session “Freezes and Thaws in the Socialist Bloc,” session chairs Yelena Kalinsky, Michigan State University, and Adrian Barr, Winona State University, at 108 CAA Annual Conference, Hilton Chicago, February 12–15, 2020. SHERA is excited to announce that the 2019 SHERA Graduate Student / Independent Scholar Research Grant was awarded to Kamila KociaĆkowsa, PhD student at University of Cambridge, Pembroke College.
