Help Us Restore the Shade Gardens at Charnley-Persky House – Give Today!
Last winter’s Polar Vortex went a long way toward killing woody shrubs and shade plants in the two gardens fronting the historic Charnley-Persky House. Summer plantings this year began to rebuild the gardens, but we need your support to make changes that will address the effects of Chicago’s severe winters. Please show your support on #GivingTuesday.
Your donation today will help fund the purchase, installation, and maintenance of new soil, plants and shrubs for the gardens that welcome visitors to the National Landmark treasure Charnley-Persky House.
The house serves as the headquarters for SAH and is open to the public for guided tours. Visitors come from around the world to visit this seminal house designed and built in 1891–1892 by architect Louis Sullivan, of the famed Adler and Sullivan architectural firm, and his junior draftsman, Frank Lloyd Wright. The house is one of the few houses created in collaboration by these two design giants.
Careful planning and replanting of Charnley-Persky House's gardens are top priorities that we have identified so the house can continue to be a good neighbor in its landmark district location.
Your donation today will help support SAH's stewardship of this iconic house for many years to come.
