The Society of Architectural Historians is pleased to announce new appointments to the editorial team of the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians (JSAH). David Karmon, professor of history of art and architecture and head of the Architectural Studies program at Holy Cross, is the new editor of JSAH and will serve a three-year term (2021–2023). He previously served as book review editor for Europe, Africa, and Asia before 1750 (2018–2020) and was named JSAH editor designate in 2020. Ann Huppert, associate professor of architectural history at the University of Washington, is the new book review editor for Europe, Africa, and Asia before 1750, and Patricio del Real, assistant professor of the history of art and architecture at Harvard University, is the new exhibitions review editor. Their terms will begin in March 2021 and end in December 2023. They join book review editors Gail Fenske (The Americas), professor of architecture at Roger Williams University, and Cole Roskam (Europe, Africa, and Asia from 1750), associate professor of architectural history at the University of Hong Kong.
Published since 1941, JSAH is a leading English-language journal on the history of the built environment. Each issue offers scholarly articles on topics from all periods of history and all parts of the world, reviews of recent books, exhibitions, films, and other media, as well as a variety of editorials and opinion pieces designed to place the discipline of architectural history within a larger intellectual context.
