Driehaus logoThe Richard H. Driehaus Foundation has awarded the Society of Architectural Historians a multi-year grant of $120,000 for general operating support. The grant will help fund SAH’s day-to-day operational expenses, technology services and licenses to carry out communications with members and donors, contracting long range services for programs before registration revenues are received, auditing and accounting services, and other expenditures that allow the Society to carry out its work. SAH will receive the funds in payments made over the course of three years, from 2021 to 2023.

“The multi-year support of the Driehaus general operating grant is invaluable and provides SAH with budget security for a portion of operating expenses as we develop new fundraising strategies,” says SAH Director of Development Carolyn Garrett.

This is the third three-year general operating grant that The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation has awarded to SAH; the Society received the first grant in 2015 and the second grant in 2018.

“Through generous grants for the past six years from The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, SAH has been able to thrive and grow,” says SAH Executive Director Pauline Saliga. “The Foundation’s support during the pandemic has been a lifeline that has enabled SAH to maintain regular operations in the face of sudden losses of revenue. We sincerely thank the Board of the Driehaus Foundation for their continued generosity.”
