The Bradford Williams Medal is awarded annually to recognize excellence in writing about landscape architecture. This medal is given in honor of Bradford Williams, who for many years served as the corresponding secretary of ASLA and presided over ASLA's national headquarters in Boston. He was a past editor, publisher, business manager and the driving force behind
Landscape Architecture Quarterly (now
Landscape Architecture Magazine).One medal is awarded to the author of an article in
LAM and a second to the author of an article in a mainstream publication.
Thaïsa Way, FASLA, will receive the
LAM award for her July 2020 essay, "All Ours". In the article, Thaïsa writes about the critical and threatened public realm surrounding the White House, and the conversion in June to Black Lives Matter Plaza.

Thaïsa Way joined SAH in 2001. She served on the Local Committee for the 2019 SAH Annual Conference in Providence, RI, and as a Session Chair at the 2019 and 2015 Annual Conferences. She has also served on several committees for SAH Archipedia, including Classic Buildings Landscapes and Urban Settings & Settlements, and on the MacDougal Book Award Committee in 2013-14.
