The search for the Society’s next executive director is continuing apace. In the past six weeks, the search committee took several key steps: reviewing full applications from a large and diverse pool of candidates; identifying a subset of the applicants who were particularly promising and interviewing those individuals via Zoom in October; and eventually coming to a strong consensus about a small number of excellent finalists. Each of the finalists will interview with the search committee in Chicago in mid-November, when they will also meet members of the wonderful SAH staff and have the opportunity to experience at least the public rooms of the Charnley-Persky House. We are looking forward to meeting each of them in person.
Given the confidential nature of the search, we cannot share additional details about our finalists. We can, however, share our next steps. The Isaacson, Miller team will undertake additional referencing and complete the background check process. Once that due diligence is complete, the committee will submit its recommendation and supporting documentation to the SAH Board for approval. If all goes well, the offer will follow soon after, and we hope to make an announcement by the end of 2022.
