Since its inception, CHSA has hosted six biennial meetings: in Atlanta (2008), Philadelphia (2010), Boston (2012), Minneapolis (2014), and Austin, Texas (2016), and College Park, Maryland (2018).  We are very proud to be hosting our 7th biennial meeting and celebrate our 15th anniversary promoting and creating new knowledge in the discipline of Construction History.

The 7th Biennial meeting of the Construction History Society of America will feature research and scholarship from a diverse range of academics and practitioners, focusing generally on the history of building design, fabrication, and construction throughout the Americas from antiquity to modern days.  Presenters will include scholars, engineers, architects, preservationists, and contractors, who will present on topics ranging from historic building materials and methods to postwar engineering and building science

Keynote speakers Brandon Clifford (MIT, Matter Design) and Ece Erdogmus (Georgia Tech) are featured, as well as a tour to a working quarry and a hands-on stone carving workshop.  Over 30 abstracts of cutting edge research will be presented, and CHSA is pleased to invite   our construction history colleagues to Marietta to network in person!
