The Connecting Communities Digital Initiative encourages creators in Black, Indigenous, and communities of color to combine Library materials with technology to connect Americans with a more expansive understanding of our past and future.
Connecting Communities Digital Initiative Grants encourage digital programs that add and amplify the stories of people whose voices have traditionally been minimized, and innovatively incorporate Library collections. Applications are now open June 7, 2022 through the September 30, 2022 @ noon EST deadline for the 2023 opportunity.
Grant for Libraries, Archives, Museums
The Grant for Libraries, Archives, Museums provides support to libraries, archives, and museums to use Library of Congress digital collections and materials to create projects that center the lives, experiences, and perspectives of Black, Indigenous and other communities of color in the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, territories and commonwealths (Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands). We will offer three grants for up to $50,000 each.
The Grant for Higher Education supports minority-serving higher education institutions in the development of projects that use Library of Congress digital collections and materials that center the lives, experiences, and perspectives of Black, Indigenous and other communities of color in the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, territories and commonwealths (Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands).
