The ACHP is aware that there are shortages of skilled candidates entering the fields of historic preservation and cultural resources management (CRM), particularly where needed to support the national historic preservation program.
The ACHP and its partners are working to address these challenges and want to strengthen our relationships with institutions of higher learning and others to encourage students to prepare themselves for careers in the federal preservation program.
Historic preservation and CRM are diverse fields with many career opportunities with federal, state, tribal, private, and local job opportunities. For those who are looking for ways to put their education and experience in archaeology; anthropology; architecture; history; urban, city, and regional planning; conservation; traditional trades; or other fields to good use, the ACHP urges them to consider a career in the federal historic preservation program.
As an example, below are links to postings for jobs, internships, scholarships, and other opportunities that are available right now, for a variety of positions, ranging from marketing to preservationists to skilled trades training positions.
